About Mangansim
Manganism occurs when an individual has suffered exposure to high
levels of manganese. Similar to symptoms suffered by Parkinsons
disease sufferers, manganism affects the central nervous system.
A long-term clinical study followed up with the progression of
chronic manganism in five patients ten years later and found that
the clinical progression in the patients with manganese parkinsonism
continued even ten years after exposure to the chemical had ceased.
Indicators of manganism can appear in symptoms such as fatigue,
weakness, tremors, muscle stiffness, coordination problems, cramps,
impotence, as well as many other Parkinson-like effects. Manganese
has a very slow elimination from the central nervous system, allowing
the onset and symptoms of manganese exposure, like manganism, to
appear much later
in life. If you would like more information on manganism and other
manganese exposure adverse health conditions, please contact
us.
